MORE full mask theatrical fun is on its way to the nation, thanks to a successful funding bid.

Vamos Theatre, who are based at the Worcester Arts Workshop, Sansome Street, have been awarded money through Arts Council England’s Grants for the Arts, which will help support their national tour in the spring of 2015.

It will allow the company to rework Nursing Lives, which was their first major touring show originally staged in 2010.

Set in the Second World War, it tells the story of Flo, a feisty 70-something, who learns the hospital she worked at during the war is being demolished.

She decides she needs to take one last look and her illicit visit becomes a personal celebration of friendship, courage, adventure and romance.

But it also reveals a hidden secret, one which Flo still holds close.

It’s a darkly humorous and nostalgic full mask show celebrating bravery, determination and the human spirit.

A Vamos Theatre spokesman said: "We’ve already begun reworking the show, which we know will benefit from the extra creative experience we’ve had since its original staging, and we’re promising just as much of a crowd-pleaser.

"We’re particularly excited about introducing one of our favourite shows to audiences and venues who’ve come to know us since Nursing Lives first toured."

Ahead of this, Vamos' Midwives on Call have their wellies ready as part of the company's series of walkabout appearances which includes unexpected deliveries at Glastonbury and Southwold Arts Festival this weekend.

Nursing Lives will tour from February to May 2015.
