POLICE are continuing an investigation following an alleged sexual assault in Evesham.

A photograph has been released of a man, who police wish to speak to, which was taken by the victim on her mobile phone.

Since the appeal was launched, a second person has come forward reporting a similar incident, involving a man of a similar description at the same location, the week before.

The incident in which the photograph was taken took place at about 4am on Sunday, June 15 as the victim, a 22-year-old local woman, was walking along Briar Close.

She sais she was approached by a man who was performing a lewd act. She says the man sexually assaulted her, by touching her over her clothing and then pushed her to the ground before running away.

Detective Sergeant Craig Sergeant said: “Thanks to the quick thinking of the woman involved, we now have a better chance of tracing the individual, who we wish to speak to.

“The photograph is available on our website and on our social media sites. Please share it widely to help our investigation.”

Anyone who recognises this man or who has information either of the incidents is urged to call West Mercia Police quoting incident number 202s of June 15th.
