OVER 100 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts were presented with awards when the annual district AGM was held at the Scout headquarters in Spring Lane last Wednesday, June 4.
Among those receiving awards were the first members of the Young Leader Unit recently formed in the district. Benjamin Scott, Matthew Hall and Matthew Chauhan, who were presented with their belts and certificates by district commissioner Adrian Ward.
Malvern mayor Julian Roskams, who attended the evening, said: "We have been celebrating the achievements of some very remarkable young people, and I feel privileged to be among them.
"But none of what they have achieved, and none of the work of the Malvern Scouts, happens by chance. Everything is down to those unsung heroes of the scouting movement, the many volunteers who give up their time to make what happens here such a success."
