YARNBOMB Great Malvern is looking for helpers to make decorations for this year's carnival procession.

The group will be livening up the the carnival route with knitted and crocheted bunting and miniature hats, as well as creating a hat for the Edward Elgar statue on Belle Vue island in the centre of Malvern

Information and patterns for the hats and decorations are now available at the Iapetus gallery on Belle Vue Terrace, or they can be found on Yarnbomb Great Malvern's Facebook page.

This year’s Malvern Carnival and Hat Festival is on Saturday, July 12, with the parade starting by the Abbey

Gateway. It will make its way down Church Street and Avenue Road to Barnards Green.

The parade of decorated vehicles and floats will be followed by a walking parade, in which all schools, youth groups, bands, societies or organisations are invited to take part.

Joanna Davies-Mourby of Yarnbomb Great Malvern said: "We will be decorating the route on Friday , July 11, meeting by the Abbey Gateway at 10.30am. If people would like to make items but can't join us then, the items can be dropped off at Iapetus until Monday, July 7.
