A CIDER pressed in the shadow of the Malvern Hills has struck gold.

Hogan’s Cider, whose cider production is based at H & MH Weaver, in Castlemorton, near Malvern, was awarded a gold medal at the International Cider Challenge for their Hazy Daisy cider and a silver for Hogan’s Medium Cider.

The competition is designed to recognise the diversity and range of packaged products within the dynamic and growing cider industry.

Allen Hogan, of Hogan’s Cider, said: “We are absolutely delighted to win a Gold for our Hazy Daisy in the International Cider Challenge.

"What is really pleasing it that this is the first time a bag-in-box product has won such a prominent competition, giving credibility to the format which is gaining in popularity with customers due to its long shelf life and the freshness of the cider from first to last serve.”

Hazy Daisy is a still, slightly cloudy, traditional, medium-sweet cider made from 100 per cent fresh pressed English cider apples and offers a light, refreshing, easy-drinking beverage.

While Hogan’s Medium bottled Cider is golden, bright and lightly carbonated.
