TRADERS in Barnards Green are already getting in the mood for next month's carnival and hat festival.

They have risen to the challenge by designing and making their own hats representing their businesses which will be on display in their shop windows.

And members on the public are invited to join in the magical carnival capers on Saturday, July 12, by creating their own hats on any theme they choose.

Judges will be local councillors Lucy Hodgson and Melanie Baker and there will be eight to prizes of £25 in Barnards Green and another on Great Malvern.

Among the entertainments traders in the Green will be providing from 2pm to 4pm will be a comic magic show, a jitterbug dance-along, circus skills, and mini-crazy golf. There will also be craft activities to get involved with and a cake competition.

Proceeds from the carnival will go to the Action for Children Sunshine centre to provide a summer day trip for families that would not otherwise get a holiday.
