MALVERN Rotarians are calling on residents to hand over their loose change and help the club achieve a mile of pennies.

The club will be lining up the coppers in Church Walk in the town centre on Saturday, June 20, but is hoping people can help them by donating their pennies in the meantime.

The coins can be taken to Iapetus on Belle Vue Terrace, where the shop owners have agreed to host a collecting bucket,

The stunt will help raise money for Rotary charities locally, nationally and internationally, especially the campaign to aid Syrian refugees.

David Jones of Rotary said: "Every odd bit of change that is cluttering up your purses and pockets will be put to good use, mainly in providing shelter and water purification facilities to ease the plight of these desperate refugees."
