THUNDERSTORMS are sweeping across Worcestershire and Herefordshire this morning.
The pictures below show bright forks of lightning along with heavy fall of rain, which started around 6.30am, with 12mm of rain falling in Ledbury and Suckley in less than half an hour.
The storm hit the same day the Met Office issued a severe weather warning for heavy rain, the second in less than a week.
A yellow weather warning is now in place until 8pm tonight, for Yorkshire and Humber, the East and West Midlands, the East of England, London and South East England.
A Met Office spokesman said: “What we are getting is fairly typical weather for early summer.
“We should be looking at sunny and fairly dry spells for most of the country throughout the rest of the week.”
Worcester is forecast to reach temperatures of around 19 degrees tomorrow, and is expected to be sunny with a strong possibility of showers throughout the day tomorrow.
Wednesday is set to be warm too, also around 19 degrees, and is expected to be cloudy with sunny spells, but staying dry.
