AN evening of loud music will do its bit to raise the decibels as well as money for charity.
Maks Szymanski has set up the Noise Against Cancer campaign when a family member had to battle the illness and he is now presenting three bands at the Firefly, Lowesmoor, Worcester, on Thursday, June 26 in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The gig will feature math-rock legends Aulous, hardcore group Stillburst and Evesham punks Officer Down in conjunction with Herefordshire-based music media company Circuit Sweet
Mr Szymanski said: "Its such a horrible situation to be in, you feel helpless, you feel like theres someone to blame, when there really isn't.
"I felt like I needed to do something, so I really wanted to do a fundraiser, but something that I would enjoy doing, as well as raising awareness, raising money and basically giving people a good time."
Mr Szymanski hopes to stage more shows at the venue as well as continuing to promote at this year's Worcester Music Festival.
"Im hoping to put on a punk night, featuring some great bands, as well as an acoustic night."
The gig starts at 8pm, tickets are £2 on the door and a raffle will be held with all proceeds going to charity.
