2:07pm Thursday 5th June 2014 in News
BREDON Hill, near Pershore, is the subject of the next talk at the Elgar Birthplace Museum at Lower BRoadheath, near Worcester.
Over the years, Bredon Hill has provided inspiration for poets and musicians alike, and in his talk, My Summertimes of Bredon, Peter Avis, who has climbed the hill over 150 times, will talk about its effect on the creative mind.
Museum supervisor Chris Bennett said: “Bredon Hill is a most beautiful are and Peter Avis is our ideal guide. Peter is a writer, broadcaster and singer, and knows just about every inch of the hill.
"His knowledge of the poets and composers who have been inspired by the area is second to none, and given his reputation as a raconteur this promises to be a most enlightening and entertaining presentation.”
The talk is on Tuesday, June 10, at 10.30am. Tickets, to include interval refreshments, are £6 and available from 01905 333224 or elgarmuseum.org. Advance booking is advisable and credit/debit cards are accepted.
