UKIP to contest every Worcestershire seat for the general election

THE UK Independence Party is planning to field candidates in ALL six Worcestershire seats at next year's general election, it has emerged.

The announcement will have a major impact on the vital seat of Worcester - and could ultimately decide whether it stays Conservative or switches to Labour.

Your Worcester News can reveal how party figures are already working furiously behind the scenes to make sure all the seats have candidates in place within weeks.

It has already selected a candidate for West Worcestershire, dentist Richard Chamings, and in the Wyre Forest, where activist Michael Wrench is in place.

Now it plans to home in on Worcester, where it finished second in eight of the 11 city council seats it contested last week, and go on to fill all the rest in a clean sweep.

James Carver, a UKIP MEP for Worcestershire, said: "We won't be rushed into the selections but we are planning to go into it with candidates in all six seats.

"I do think the turnout at the European elections would have been a lot lower if we hadn't contested it.

"Whether you agree with us not, we're putting candidates up everywhere in Worcestershire and it'll make the other parties scratch their heads.

"Worcester is obviously a marginal seat. We plan to launch a strong campaign across the county and aim to challenge on all fronts."

It comes as a Worcestershire Conservative MP yesterday insisted it was up to the other parties to "communicate better".

Sir Peter Luff, who represents Mid-Worcestershire and is retiring next year, said: "In the European elections people tended to vote with UKIP because it was 'risk free', but a general election is different - you're electing a Government which makes decisions that affect people every day.

"I don't see what policies UKIP have other than leaving Europe - all the main parties need to stand up and communicate theirs in a way everybody understands so they can see we're on their side."

In Worcester, Conservative MP Robin Walker has a 2,982 majority and is up against Labour's Joy Squires, a city councillor, and Louis Stephen for the Greens.

Nationally, UKIP believes it can make a breakthrough in parliament next year, and in the event of no party having an overall majority could hold the balance of power.

Prime Minister David Cameron has ruled out doing any deals with UKIP.

I personally think that Ukip should form a worldwide troubleshooting group to parachute candidates et al into any country that looks like it will be at the mercy of any form of CONservative administration.

Maybe they could employ the use of a robotic version of The Lord High Farridge - which could patrol the area in question informing people of the EVIL that could befall them if they submit to the blue CON MENACE.

My party lol I didn't even vote reason being there were no candidates or political party I liked. Problem with the UK is that the whole political system is broken.

LosWilko --Could you explain your comment --why are the party racist, and if so after last Thursdays voting surely that makes a lot of us racist. I voted UKIP and am in no way a racist,i work with and are friends with a lot of foreign nationals, some from Europe, some from India,Pakistan and the Phillipines and other parts of the world,i don't want them hurt or kicked out or anything else, they are hard working and a pleasure to know. The general feeling amongst us "racists" is we have had enough of anyone and everyone coming into the UK whilst at the same time our infrastructure is collapsing under the weight of it ie Hospitals,Schools,So
cial housing and the other parties are doing absolutely nothing to address it,under them immigration has continued to rise year in year out--It can't go on,we are a small island. So come on how does that make me a racist ?

LosWilko, proud he didn't bother to vote. So perhaps he got the government he deserved? Less than 50% vote in UK elections, so who will take the electorate's wishes seriously. But the 'pork barrelling' has already begun in Worcestershire, so the Government must be very worried, that the electorate is being 'sucked in' by Farrage's rhetoric.
Spider 666, perhaps authoritarian, xenophobic, is a simpler description of the UKIP election policies on its website. Farrage comes across as a bit of a fool. But he appeals to the 'ordinary man (or woman) in in the street'. Reading the website, I was reminded of Hitler's propaganda. This might be why people say UKIP is fascist. Join the dots.
Britain is one of the richest countries in the world. But it doesn't allocate its taxpayers resources well, as well as too much middle class welfare (giving the pension to rich people), a regressive tax system that hit the poor, politicians with a culture of 'entitlement', a banking system that's morally bankrupt, and a system of community values that are shallow. These are issues that the community can give priority to changing. UKIP won't address these flaws, but merely waste time on futile xenophobic policies that won't resolve Britain's economic problems.

How do you know this?

All the other parties have been in power over the last few hundred years and failed to address these flaws. Maybe you shouldn't be throwing stones in your glasshouse. Maybe everyone else want to try something different.

As far as I am concerned, everyone can call UKIP what they wish to call them if they can gain some false satisfaction from it, fascist, racist and all the rest of the usual drivel. It will not make the slightest difference to me as I will, as an ex Tory, support them to the hilt. The worst in UKIP, be it a Councillor, MEP or just an ordinary supporter can't be half as bad as their corresponding lot in the Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem or Green parties who are all tarred with the same brush of having failed Britain, being oblivious to the electorates demand for something to be done about the EU and immigration. We have seen what the "old" parties have done to our country, we have seen how a bunch of "let downs" in those parties have disregarded the voice of their constituents, in effect, they have all had chance after chance and have all been found wanting. Now we have the opportunity for a new start with a party and people with new and different ideas - UKIP. The difference with them is that they have never had a chance to put this country to "rights", all they require is for the likes of those of us who are angry, disgruntled, betrayed and insulted by the "old" parties to disregard the insults, the BBC, the Daily Mail and the rest of the media can throw at them and let the detractors insults count for nothing.
All I would say to UKIP is don't leave the campaigning to late, start now, not a week before the election, flood the county with purple, respond to every critical letter or comment in the papers with a reply and let the dreary "old" lot do their worst.
