PEOPLE have the chance to protect their property against criminals at Malvern Retail Park on Saturday, June 7 between 10am and 2pm.

The "Protect Your Property " event has a summer focus, offering security advice to members of the public around securing their homes and property. Summer is seen as a time when the potential for opportunistic crime can increase as people are away on holiday or leaving windows open due to the warmer weather.

PC David Wise, a Pickersleigh Safer Neighbourhood officer, said: "We will have some security devices on offer to people who have been the victim of crime in the past or who have a specific concern about a certain type of crime. We'll also be contacting recent victims of crime to invite them along. We should have basic bike marking kits, other property marking devices and house, window and shed alarms available.

"Children will have a chance to come along and have a go in a police 4 X 4 and pick up a MalvernCops wristband, police helmet and notebook and become part of the #SaferMalvern network."

Members of the Malvern Safer Neighbourhood Team and Special Constabulary will be on hand with advice.
