A "TROUBLESOME" man and woman have been evicted from a Worcester flat after police acted on complaints about drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.

Officers from West Mercia Police and representatives from Worcester Community Housing attended an address in Dent Close, off Wylds Lane, Worcester, yesterday where they evicted a man and a woman, both in their 20s.

A spokesman for police said: “Both ourselves and WCH have received numerous complaints from local residents in relation to concerns that there was drug dealing and ongoing ASB at one of the flats.

“The residents were increasingly frustrated with the people loitering in the close and the incidents that were taking place at and around the flat.

“Police have proactively targeted the flat in question and carried out a number of warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act as granted by Worcester Magistrates Court.

“Representatives from WCH have attended with police following these warrants and have been able to evidence a number of activities related to the possession and use of controlled substances.

“Following an unsuccessful appeal at court today the troublesome residents were evicted from the property which will now be offered to new residents.

“Both West Mercia Police and WCH want residents to be reassured we will not tol - erate this behaviour and ac - tively encourage people to re - port incidents of anti-social behaviour so they can take appropriate actions.”
