MALVERN mayor Julian Roskams brought his first year of office to an end by cycling 100 miles around the Malvern Hills
in aid of Malvern Special Families.
Leading a group of council colleagues and friends, Cllr Roskams set off from Victoria Park, Malvern Link at 8.30am on Bank Holiday Monday.
And their efforts have so far raised about £800 for the charity, which was the mayor's chosen charity in his year of office.
And the following day, at the annual meeting of Malvern Town Council, cllr Roskams was re-elected as mayor unopposed.
He told councillors that he was delighted to have spent the last year supporting Malvern Special Families, and for the coming year, he will be supporting Age UK and Dementia UK.
He said: "Dementia UK does a lot of good work, especially with its Admiral Nurses, who provide support and care for people with dementia and their families and carers."
