A WORCESTER hospice caring for children with life-threatening conditions is throwing open its doors to visitors this weekend.

Acorns Children’s Hospice is holding an open day on Saturday, May 10 for anyone who would like to have a look around the building and landscaped gardens in Bath Road.

The charity’s fundraising officer Mandie Fitzgerald said the site will be open from 10am until midday and again from 1pm until 4pm.

“The hospice is a very bright and cheerful place and the gardens are a delight to walk around,” she said.

“It’s an ideal opportunity for anyone who wants to find out how we care for and support our local children and their families.”

She added it costs the charity £750 a day to care for each child at its hospices so it relies on the community to help fund its activities.

“The more people who support us with fundraising the better,” she said.
