NO bull, Malvern sculptor Caro Sweet has been named a grand prize winner in an international art competition for one of her bronze sculptures.

Inspired by the cattle grazing the Malvern Hills, her model of a bull titled "Legend", will appear with two of Ms Sweet's other works in an iArtBook publication "101 Artworks featuring the Animal Kingdom", which is due out soon. The competition organised by Art Has No Borders invited international artists to enter their work in a variety of media by online digital submission.

“I was thrilled to receive an email notifying me of my win,” Ms Sweet said. “Many open exhibitions and juried competitions use online submission of photos to make their selections these days. I knew it was time for me to update my knowledge of digital photography and computer processes to keep up with this. So I booked on to a short photography course and learnt some extra PC skills. It certainly paid off.

"Art Has No Borders is publishing a series of iArtBooks this year and it is a great way for artists to get their work in front of a global audience. I would recommend any artist to have a go at submitting well-photographed, good quality work. The process is really very simple, if I can get to grips with the technology, anyone can.”

As winner of the competition Ms Sweet will have a bespoke interactive iArtBook published of her twork to showcase her talent. She also receives a cash prize, adding: "I have already decided to put that towards an iPad, so my technology journey will continue.”
