MALVERN Library will be the fitting venue next week for an event encouraging non-readers to pick up a book.

The library is hosting a reading clinic as a joint venture with the town's job centre, which now shares the same building in Graham Road.

And anyone who takes part in the clinic, on Wednesday, April 23, starting at noon, will get a free book from a list of top titles specially compiled for World Book Night.

Peter Kennard of the Job Centre said: "Whether you're a lapsed reader, a non-reader or simply someone who never seems to find the time, come and find out why reading is such a positive, beneficial and worthwhile activity."

The event is part of World Book Night, aimed at prompting the 35 per cent of people who don’t regularly read to give it a go.
