BLUEBELL and Daisy the donkeys were the stars of the show at the Palm Sunday procession in Cradley at the weekend.
The procession, recalling Jesus's entry into Jerusalem, started at the primary school, paused at the war memorial for the blessing of the palms and made its way to the village church for a family communion service.
Clare Dolan, one of the procession's organisers, said: "More and more people joined us as we walked through the village, and Bluebell and Daisy were a hit with everyone, as well as raising a smile from all the motorists we passed.
"The donkey-shaped biscuits with the after-service teas and coffees were also very popular and raised £45 for the Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land.
"It was a successful and lovely event, which we hope will become an annual fixture in the village."
