JEWELLERY, cash and a digital music player worth some £1,000 were stolen when thieves raided a house at Hanley Castle, near Malvern.

The burglars got into the house at Picken End through an open kitchen window between 3pm and 8pm on Sunday, April 6.

They stole an Apple iPod 16gb, a Swarovski one-inch-square aqua crystal dress ring, a silver chain and locket, several other dress rings and about £60 in cash.

Detective Constable Ian Wright said: "Some of the jewellery items are very distinctive and we want to hear from anyone who has been offered items matching their descriptions.

“We are also appealing for witnesses to come forward who saw or heard anything suspicious or an unfamiliar vehicle in Picken End last Sunday."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Wright on the non-emergency number 101 and quoting incident number 0638s/060414. Information can also be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.
