THE KEEP Herefordshire Warm scheme is making its return this year.

Herefordshire Council and Marches Energy Agency are behind the initiative, which aims to provide advice to people hoping to improve the energy efficiency of their home, while reduce energy bills. The scheme also offers advice on renewable technologies, as well as grants and subsidies available.

A government consultation on changes to the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) ends on Wednesday, April 16, after new grants for loft and cavity wall insulation are expected to be available.

The grants will mean either free or heavily discounted insulation measures.

Once the changes to ECO are announced, the Keep Herefordshire Warm scheme will assess the best installers and deals in the area.

Once offers are verified, Keep Herefordshire Warm team will contact householders with a recommended installer and advice.

The council are warning cold callers are already targeting local residents, and some may not be trustworthy.
