MEMBERS of the Friday Youth Club at Malvern Vale Community Centre will be sleeping over tomorrow (Friday, April 4) to raise money and awareness for homelessness.
Over 20 club members aged eight-14 are expected to take part in the event, called Sleep Easy, and organised by the YMCA, which manages the centre Throughout the night there will be a range of activities to keep the group entertained including quizzes and a short film about homelessness.
The group will also build a shelter with boxes donated by Bennett’s of Malvern and eat pizza donated by Dominos.
Centre manager Abby Hanley said: "YMCA Worcestershire will be holding their Sleep Easy event on next Friday, April 11, on a larger scale outdoors to raise money and awareness for homeless, and this year it is more important than ever to hold the event as the county council are purposing funding cuts which have a huge impact on provisions such at the YMCA and the work they do."
