SMOKERS in Worcestershire are being urged to kick their bad habit and quit for good on No Smoking Day.

This year's theme for the national campaign, which takes place on Wednesday, March 12, is V for Victory and is set to inspire hundred of thousands of smokers to win the fight against cigarettes.

Worcestershire County Councillor Marcus Hart, chairman of the Worcestershire Tobacco Control Alliance, said the council and Worcestershire's Local Pharmaceutical Committee would be spreading the word on help available to people thinking about quitting smoking.

He said: "No Smoking Day is a great opportunity for smokers in Worcestershire to quit, knowing they will be doing so alongside hundreds of thousands of other people across the UK.

“Quitting isn’t easy but support is available so that smokers can win the battle against cigarettes."

The county council and the pharmaceutical committee will be hosting Healthy Living Roadshows around the county to inspire quitters and send them on the road to victory.

The roadshow will be at Evesham retail park on Monday, Redditch market on Tuesday, Crowngate market in Worcester on Wednesday, Kidderminster market on Thursday and Bromsgrove marker on Friday. The teams will be offering advice and help between 9.30am and 4pm each day.
