AN EVENT supporting the work of a group helping domestic abuse survivors will be held next month.

The Butterfly Ball arranged by SupportWorks will be held at The Pear Tree Inn and Country Hotel in Smite, near Worcester, on Saturday, March 8 – International Women’s Day.

The butterfly theme of the black tie event reflects the non-profit company’s logo, which symbolises freedom, independence and liberty.

The event will include live music, a casino, champagne and a three-course dinner as well as a raffle with prizes including signed Worcester Warriors shirts, House of Commons Whiskey and a horse racing experience for two.

Partner in charge of Andrew Grant’s country homes and auctioning departments Gerard Smith will act as master of ceremonies and SupportWorks founder Kay Clarke will be on hand to introduce a domestic violence survivor, who will tell her inspiring story of moving on from her harrowing experience.

Kay said: “Since we began four years ago we have seen our survivor group evolve to become much more than a self help group.

“Our work currently achieves some outstanding results for women who have experienced the devastating effects of living with domestic abuse.

“The ball will be an occasion to celebrate our past successes and future plans! Tickets are available to everyone so make sure you don’t miss out.”

SupportWorks was set up as a non-profit company in 2010 offering self-help services and today runs recovery programmes for survivors and training for professionals.
