GRITTING teams will be out in full force to ease surface water and to tackle the overnight threat of snow.

Worcestershire County Councils Highways teams have continued to empty drain and gullies, clear trees from roads and keep the county open while keeping people safe in the flood crisis.

Drivers are being reminded that any surface water could quickly develop into black ice and are urged to adjust their driving accordingly.

Motorists are also urged not to drive into flood water because of the possibility of hidden hazards.

The Met Office has predicted more rain and strong winds for the days ahead and the county council is asking residents to drive with caution and be mindful of other motorists, cyclists and pedestrians while also respecting other road closures for their own safety.

With adverse weather continuing to affect the county, people should be aware of possible localised surface water flooding, as well as some disruption in general.

The latest on river flooding and the weather can be seen by visiting the Environment Agency and Met Office websites and the latest local travel updates and school closures will be available on the Worcestershire County Council Twitter feed.
