THERE will be plenty of free sporting activities to keep boredom at bay this half term.

Worcester City Council has set up five-day programme across 14 different venues to help young people and families stay active and have some fun during the school break.

The activities will include cricket, tennis, football, badminton, volleyball, rugby, athletics, frisbee, parachute games and much more, with the sessions running from Monday to Friday, February 17-21 for two to 18-year-olds.

Steve Buchanan, sport development officer at the city council, said: “School holidays can prove a very expensive time for parents and families. These sporting activities are all free, on your doorstep, and will be carrying on, whatever the weather.”

All staff and volunteers at the sessions are fully CRB/DBS checked and all children aged eight or below need to be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian at all times, while all children under the age of 16 must provide emergency contact details of a parent or responsible adult.

No booking is required.
