FIREFIGHTERS from Worcestershire have been sent to help flood victims in Somerset.

Four fire crews from Kidderminster were sent to a strategic base at Taunton Deane services last night (Wednesday) and will be sent out to help this morning (Thursday).

Somerset has been badly hit by flooding with some villages cut off by the water for almost a month.

Worcestershire's firefighters were drafted in as part of a national response after Somerset County Council asked the government for help.
