A MUSIC club in Castlemorton, near Malvern, is looking for new members.

Playing exclusively country and western music, Castlemorton Village Hall puts on a new show every month.

Derek Newton, who took over the running of the hall in 2006, said he was hoping to get younger people into the music nights as the number of people attending had started to dwindle down.

He said: "People come from 10, 20, even 40 miles away - there's no one local. It's always a good night - the dance floor is always full.

"It's hard work running a club and it costs a lot to put things on so we need to get some new blood through the door."

The 73-year-old said each night he puts on he plans himself and estimated it costing around £350 including the band, hall, food and raffle costs.

The next show will take place on Saturday, March 8, when Campbell's Country will be the entertainment for the evening from 8pm. It costs £6 on the door on the night including a free traditional buffet.
