I am curious about the fact that individuals are still parking on Pitchcroft when the Council have already issued warnings via the Worcester News about the high flood risk at this particular site.

Whilst the warnings may have been issued a few days ago - the rainfall has hardly paused - barely the occasional day has been rain-free since then. I am sure that most us recall the excellent pictures published in the Worcester News in 2013 showing cars submerged up to their roofs on this car park. Given the continuing weather conditions and multiple flood warnings on the Severn - WHY would any sane person park there at this time?

Can't believe people are risking their car insurance by still parking here. It is common sense u only have to look at the river to see it not safe to park here.

Could it be that these drivers are what may be described as visitors? Maybe they don't come from Worcester and haven't read the Worcester News?

Maybe they do come from the city but haven't read the WN (Stranger things have happened!).

Maybe they are daft enough to think it must be safe because otherwise the council would have closed the car park? They don't know our council...

Should be removed as a pollution risk... fuel and oil will get in river.

Over time I have come to realise that far to many people think advice and information given out for any one of a thousand reasons is for other people and not them. When they get caught out by it they can't believe what a cruel blow life has dealt them and then do the same thing all over again.

Perhaps it should not be beyond the wit of the council to close a few car parks to save these people from themselves.
