A BENCH which used to be on the traffic islands at Barnards Green should be replaced, say Malvern town councillors.
Members voted to support a motion by Councillor Martin Lawrence, calling on the district council to replace the bench, which vanished some years ago.
“The bench was a favourite of both residents and visitors and allowed both to take in the ambience of this key shopping area,” said Coun Lawrence. Coun Paul Tuthill said: “The Conservators have a long list of people who are willing to pay for benches as memorials to loved ones, but not many sites to put them.
We could ask them if there is anyone who might be willing to pay for one in Barnards Green.”
Councillors resolved to approach the Conservators.
