MALVERN Hills Lions lightened the hearts of young passers-by when their Christmas Santa sleigh paid a visit to a store.
The sleigh was outside Morrisons in Malvern Link from last Thursday, December 19, to Sunday, and while Father Christmas talked to youngsters and gave out sweets, members of the Lions collected money in aid of local charities.
Geoff Lewis of the club said: “We’re not sure yet how much we collected, but it will all go towards our support of local charities and causes.
“Quite a few local businesses helped us out with our sleigh this year, and we want to thank Travis Perkins for the materials to make the reindeer, the Dulux Decorator Centre for paint, Halfords for loaning batteries to light the sleigh and Morrisons for the sweets. We also want to thank all the members of the public who gave generously to our collection.”
