MP HARRIETT Baldwin took a trip down memory lane when she pulled pints to celebrate the reopening of a Malvern pub.

She rolled back the years as she helped behind the bar at the Anchor Inn, which has reopened after a fire earlier this year.

The West Worcestershire MP is no stranger to bar work having worked in a pub while studying at university.

She said: “It took me back to the university holidays.

“I know how much hard work is involved in running a pub. I was pleased to be able to celebrate the reopening of the Anchor Inn and I hope they have a good and prosperous run-up to Christmas.

“The chancellor has done his bit by ending the beer duty escalator.

“Pubs form an important part of our local community and I know the Anchor was missed while it was out of action.

“It is great news to see the doors open again.”

Pub tenant Jayne Peters took Mrs Baldwin on a tour of the premises before inviting her behind the bar to pull a pint.

The pub in Yates Hay Road closed after a fire in May. It reopened on Friday, November 29.
