WEST Malvern people are being urged to adopt the gas lamps near their home and decorate them for the festive season.
The competition has been organised for the second year by resident John Raine, who represents the village on Malvern Hills District Council.
He said: “West Malvern has 25 beautifully-restored gas lamps, so let’s make them part of our Christmas celebrations by decorating them with holly and ivy and baubles as you wish.”
He said that decorations should be completed by Christmas Eve, and entrants should notify him at j.w.raine@bham.ac.uk or 01684 565052, remembering to include the lamp’s number.
The judging panel of three will then tour the village on Boxing Day and subsequently announce the winner of the competition.
