Man, 66, walking poodle butted in face by bull terrier owner in Clover Way, Malvern

Malvern Gazette: VICTIM: The victim was walking his young poodle VICTIM: The victim was walking his young poodle

A DOG walker was head butted while out walking his poodle.

The 66-year-old man was in Clover Way, Malvern, on Wednesday, December 11, around midday, when he let his five-month-old puppy off the lead.

The poodle approached a dark coloured Staffordshire bull terrier, which was on a long lead held by a young man.

He became aggressive and abusive, threatening to let his dog tear the poodle to bits.

As the poodle owner put his dog back on the lead he was head butted in the face, leaving him with a bloody nose and three chipped teeth.

The young man is described as white, 20 to 22 years old, about 5ft 10 ins tall and of stocky build with blond hair.

He was wearing a dark blue hoody and blue jeans.

He ran off in the direction of the Bluebell Pub on Guarlford Road.

PC Kirsty Edwards from Malvern Police said: “This was a serious assault on an older man just taking his dog out for some exercise.

“This was an unnecessary act of aggression and totally disproportionate to the situation.

"The poodle was simply being friendly towards the other dog.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Malvern police on the non emergency number 101 and ask for PC Edwards quoting incident number 0243S 111213.

It's amazing that this "Pond Life" of Society are allowed to keep these dogs, they can barely look after themselves.
The dogs only get exercised when Jeremy Kyle isn't on the TV or they are off down the Post Office to cash their DOLE cheques, or in a neighbours flat/house "SHOOTING UP"

What an awful thing to do to someone just out walking their dog. Hopefully this thug is identified and karma catches up with him...

I imagine this guy isn't holding down a job if he is that much of an angry sociopath, therefore working folk's taxes are paying for his dog food and roof over his head.

I'm sick of this country's liberal ways. He (and his ilk) should be identified, and kicked out of 'his' accomodation. No doubt the whiners would scream 'human rights', but as far as I'm concerned, if you don't behave like a human, then you don't deserve the rights that go with it. Enjoy living on the streets through the winter, scum.

hi Folks in Malvern, may i make a constructive suggestion?? why don't anybody able too join up in a group to and start patrolling the area when the man was attacked?. after all, the agressor is fairly identifieable.. blond hair, 5'10" about 22,and stocky? he still has to take his dog out to do its business i presume so even if he is avoiding the immediate area for now he must live in the area?.. yes i know if he is questioned by police he will deny the attack but he is then "on their books".. the more we all ignore acting against the increasing sociapaths like this in our neighbourhoods the more they spred like rats. never mind "karma" -most of you would be suprised what can transpire when we do what we can.....

I used to go to the Chase in the 80s in Malvern and there was one particulary identifiable family locally.. blonde hair.. stocky.. aggressive that fits this description almost exactly.

If it's the same family I am thinking of he should think himself jolly lucky he didnt bite his poodle's head off.

Probably just got him on a bad day.

Come on all of you local people to the poolbrook estate mentioned, you must know who this scum is, its a sad world when an elderly gentleman, or anyone else cannot walk such places in safety especially in the middle of the day.

Why are all of these kind of people who think a dog makes them something special not given something useful to do instead of scrounging, lolloping around and being a burden to the country!!

Absolutely disgusting, but not sure I agree with the idea of patrolling the area looking for the bloke. I don't live far from there, I am about the same height, have blonde hair and am of stocky build, to add insult to injury my dog also matches the description. I can be sure it wasn't me because I would have been working to pay for this scum bag, but an angry mob walking the streets wouldn't know that

I am surprised that no-one has commented as to the fact that a 20 week old puppy, off lead, should be nowhere near an on lead staffordshire bull terrier. When you become a dog owner you are in fact adopting the role of alpha dog or pack leader. This role comes with responsibilities such as protecting your animals. Yes, the assailant acted unlawfully by attacking the puppies owner and should be arrested as soon as possible, but this story could just as easily have read- 'poodle puppy torn to pieces by staffy'
Quotes from police officers stating ' the puppy was only being friendly' don't help at all either. How about 'if you are in any doubt as to whether to let your dog investigate another dog, put it on the lead first, then ask the owner if its ok for them to mix'. Every negative encounter between dog owners could be avoided by adopting this simple rule

A lot of conservative supporting idiots in Malvern then? Of course we have to make this issue a political one don't we?! The aggressor in this case will hopefully be caught and charged however who's to say he doesn't have a job? He might do! I, like everyone else, know lots of different people, some are 'poor' some are extremely rich and a few from either end of the spectrum can be fairly unpleasant. Being a w****r is classless I'm afraid.
As a few of you have demonstrated.

I was'nt thinking of an "angry mob", just a few public spirited citizens to follow any likely suspects at a considerable distance to see where he go's and if he fits the description the police could follow it up to "eliminate him from their enquiries".......

madame, I wouldn't mind betting money that he doesn't have a job, based on the fact that he attacked this chap for no good reason. I seriously doubt that sort of personality would allow him to hold onto a job where dealing with problems or stress without lashing out could be a factor. I for one would see him out of the door if he worked for me!

However - my opinion doesn't brand me as a 'conservative supporting idiot', does it? See how being judgemental works? You're just as guilty it seems.
