WORCESTERSHIRE County Council will be taking action to fix dangerous pavements in Malvern Link after more than 600 local people signed a petition.

The petition was sent to local MP Harriett Baldwin, who lobbied the council’s transport bosses to get the work done.

Now council officer Ian Barnforth has confirmed in a letter that the pavements outside the new Churchill retirement home on the corner of Worcester Road and Howsell Road, and in Summerfield Road are due to be renovated.

Mrs Baldwin said: “I am grateful to local residents for drawing my attention to this problem. With all the investment in Malvern Link – the new hospital, the refurbished station, Churchill retirement home, the upgraded post office and the new fire station – it is good to hear that the pavements will also get reconstructed.

“I am grateful to all the people who took the trouble to sign the petition and I hope they will be happy with the results.”
