A PUB reopens tomorrow (Friday) six months after a roof fire.

The Anchor Inn in Yates Hay Road, Malvern, has been refurbished, redecorated and has had a new roof installed as part of a £175,000 rennovation undertaken by Punch Taverns, who own the lease of the pub.

Jayne and Del Peters have been the licencees for 15 years, and Mr Peters said: “We are absolutely delighted to be back in the Anchor, it looks superb and we are very proud of it.

“The investment has provided the pub with new facilities and is updated and we look to utilise these by holding regular music nights and showing live sport on our new TV screens.”

Mrs Peters said: “I’m excited by the new development, it has transformed all areas of this much loved and long-established local pub. I believe the Anchor has never looked better and we are back to serve the local community and it now offers something for everyone.

“The team and I look forward to the reopening and giving a warm and friendly welcome to old and new customers alike.”

The pub has been closed since May when a blaze broke out in the attic of the pub, causing severe smoke damage.

The reopening is scheduled for 7pm tonight with live music from 9pm.
