Baker Paul Hollywood stopped off at The Fox, near Worcester
WHEN celebrity cooking expert Paul Hollywood was caught short leaving a food festival, where better for ‘the silver fox’ to stop than the Fox Inn at Bransford, near Worcester.
The Great British Bake Off judge rolled up in his Aston Martin, complete with personalised number plate, at about 5pm on Saturday, causing a stir among the regulars in the hostelry.
Though he did not stop to sample the restaurant’s food, the chefs at the Fox Inn would have no doubt risen to the occasion, particularly as chef Russell Collins has recently been named Chef and Brewer Masterchef 2013.
Team leader Allie Miles said: “I kind of recognised him when he came in but the locals knew exactly who he was and were saying ‘It’s Paul Hollywood’.
“It caused a bit of a stir and they were admiring his As-ton Martin but he didn’t talk to anyone other than to ask where the toilet was.”
Baker Paul had been giving a cookery demonstration, as well as signing copies of the book to accompany his television show, Bread, at the Cargill Flavours of Here-fordshire Festival 2013.
Fans of the show nicknamed him the ‘silver fox’ and 9.1 million viewers saw him and Mary Berry crown Frances Quinn winner of this year's competition.
