Residents enjoy garden party at home
2:10pm Sunday 3rd November 2013 in News
VISITORS enjoyed a fundraising garden party at Beechwood Residential Care Home in Holly Green, Upton.
The event, on Saturday, September 28, raised £500 which will be used to build a raised herb garden at the care home so that residents can enjoy planting, growing and tending to herbs which can then be used in their meals.
The afternoon included a tombola, raffle and a variety of stalls. There was also a bouncy castle and games for children to enjoy together with music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. For the more active there was sumo wrestling in inflatable suits.
Home manager Jemma Robinson said: “We all had a wonderful day, especially our residents.
“The weather stayed fine, we had a great turnout from the community and raised a brilliant £500. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us on the day.”
