A GENEROUS donation will allow disabled children from Herefordshire to attend special play sessions run by a local charity.
Hereford Round Table has donated £400 for Herefordshire families to attend a session of the SMILE Project, run by Malvern-based Arcos (Association for Rehabilitation in Communication and Oral Skills).
The SMILE Project is for the benefit of children with profound and multiple disabilities, as well as those with learning or sensory impairments, who often find it difficult to participate in normal play sessions.
SMILE offers a “multi-sensory environment” and a host of activities ranging from messy play to creative story-telling, all under the supervision of specialist staff.
SMILE project leader Samantha Jones said: “We are delighted to announce that Hereford Round Table has recognised the important work undertaken in the SMILE Project.”
