WALKERS helped to break through a major fund-raising milestone.
Cancer Research UK’s Malvern branch held its 15th annual walk across the Malvern Hills on Saturday, October 12, and the £8,000 raised has seen them go beyond the £100,000 barrier and reach £103,000.
This year the event set off from its new base at the Mill Pond, Golden Valley, Castlemorton, with a choice of marshalled routes covering three, six or nine miles.
Organiser Ray Worth was pleased the event saw the total march past the £100,000 target.
He said: “We had about 80 walkers, including three or family groups and plenty of dogs, because it is also a nice social occasion.”
