Miracle dad’s new heights
10:51am Friday 11th October 2013 in News
AN inspirational man who survived a rare brain tumour has conquered the three highest mountains in the UK.
Ben Lindon, of West Malvern Road, Malvern, who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in 2008, scaled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon over a weekend to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.
Mr Lindon raised £2,772, which is just over the cost for the charity to do a full day’s research.
The tree surgeon was joined by three doctors for the two-day challenge.
“It was one of the best things I have ever done,” said Mr Lindon.
“There was just some of the most breath-taking scenery I’ve ever seen in my life. It really made me appreciate Scotland.”
We previously reported how Mr Lindon defied the odds by naturally fathering a miracle baby girl despite undergoing more than 54 cycles of chemotherapy. One year on, baby Martha is doing really well.
