Eviction notice is served on man, 63
2:00pm Wednesday 9th October 2013 in News
A 63-year-old man has been evicted from his sheltered accommodation home after playing his music too loud and getting drunk in the communal lounge.
James Gavin got drunk with friends in the communal lounge of the property, at Chevenham Close, Colwall.
His landlords, Festival Housing, took him to court, where he was ordered to leave the flat at short notice.
“We have a very firm line on tenants who continually behave in an anti-social way as we want to ensure that our communities are great places to live,” said Clare Huyton, director of housing and communities at Festival Housing, based in Malvern.
“The person at fault will always have a chance to rectify their actions before we step in.
“However, Mr Gavin showed no sign of behaving in an acceptable manner so we had no choice but to take him to court and evict him, especially as he was having a detrimental affect on the lives of our older residents.”
