Popular woman will be missed

TRIBUTES are being paid to a much-loved Upton woman who spent her life helping others.
Joan Taylor , aged 92, died peacefully in Tewkesbury.
The former councillor for Upton ran a hardware store and funeral directors, both called HW Taylor and Son in Upton for more than 20 years with her late husband Frank and was well known and loved in the area.
Mrs Taylor will be best remembered for her work in the fight against cancer.
In 1971 she founded Worcestershire Cancer Aid Fund and received an MBE for her services in 1983.
Despite a busy lifestyle Mrs Taylor was a loving mother and grandmother to three children, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Nick Taylor, Mrs Taylor’s son, said: “She will be dearly missed by us all.
“She was a very inspirational woman and a massive inpsiration to me growing up. We’re very proud of her and all she achieved.”
The funeral is taking place at St Peter and St Paul church, Upton, on Tuesday at 11am.
Donations for the Worcestershire Cancer Aid can be sent to E Hill and Son Funeral Directors, Pershore.
