Have that flu jab and stay safe this winter
11:00am Monday 30th September 2013 in News
PEOPLE in Malvern are being urged to ensure they are ‘flu safe’ this winter.
GP surgeries across Malvern are now offering free flu jabs to anyone particularly at risk from the flu – over 65s, pregnant women and anyone who suffers from diabetes or a chronic illness such as heart or lung disease.
People who are carers are also being encouraged to get a free jab to protect themselves and those around them. Flu strains change every year so even those who had a jab 12 months ago should have another one.
GP Carl Ellson, clinical lead for South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “In the most serious cases, seasonal flu might land you in hospital – it can even be a killer.”
Flu jab clinics for registered patients are taking place at the following surgeries: Malvern Health Centre, September 28, October 12, November 16; Whiteacres Medical Centre, September 28, October 12, November 2; St Saviour’s Surgery, October 5, October 19; New Court Surgery, October 5, October 19, November 9; Link End Surgery, October 12; Upton Surgery, October 12, October 19, November 9.
