Eat, drink and be merry at town's Pie and Ale Festival
3:17pm Wednesday 4th September 2013 in News
EVESHAM is gearing up to welcome thousands of people to the third annual Pie and Ale Festival.
The event will see the town celebrating all that’s tasty in the Vale as local food and drink producers flood into both the Market Square and Abbey Park to promote their goods.
Last year about 2,000 people attended and organisers are hoping for even more this time around.
Competition will be fierce in the eagerly-anticipated pie competitions, with prizes up for grabs for the best homemade pie and for best pork pie and best overall pie in the professional categories.
The Outdoor Pig Company, which won both last year, is again competing along with others including Annie’s Market Garden and Kevin Mace Butchers.
Ales and ciders on offer will include Mellow Yellow, Worcester Sorcerer, Goat’s Milk, Gloucester Gold and Hereford Dry Cider.
There will also be a host of entertainment on the day for young and old alike, including magicians, face painting, puppet shows, a bouncy castle, sweet stalls and a pig roast alongside a host of live music.
The festival will take place between 11am and 6pm on Sunday, September 14, and is free.
