TALENTED design students have been pointing the way for Upton people after creating new signs and information boards.
The expertise of graphic design students from the University of Worcester was sought out by town leaders, who were impressed after seeing examples of their work.
Upton has been reinventing itself over the last year with a marketing strategy based on a new town “brand”
and official logo.
Work by the university students was well-received during a public consultation and Upton Town Partnership will now make a final decision on which of their designs will be used.
Upton town councillor Mike Ostick said: “I’ve been very impressed with the innovative and well presented ideas that have come forward, and many of these could be applied to our new marketing strategy.”
Second year student Megan Feeley said she has benefited greatly from the project.
“At the start of this module I had a very basic understanding of information graphic design and wayfinding signage in general,” she said.
“It has opened my eyes to this subject, and for me personally, signage will never go unnoticed again.”
