Heads up for annual festival
11:25am Friday 23rd August 2013 in News
BEER lovers can get their fill of ale at a beer festival at a popular pub in Upper Colwall this weekend.
The Chase Inn in Chase Road will sell 13 ales alongside the usual selection for the event, which runs from 6pm today until Sunday night.
Assistant manager Sue Caffull said she hoped for a busy weekend for the annual event, the first under new manager Jo Walker.
“I was lying in bed thinking about how many pints it would be and it was a lot,” she said.
“But I’m very annoyed with the weatherman, as he promised us a heatwave and now it looks like it might rain on Saturday.
“We rely on people making the effort to come out so we hope it will be a success – and the weather is looking good for Friday and Sunday.”
As well as a host of ales and hot pork and beef rolls, live music on Friday and Saturday should ensure drinkers have lots to keep them occupied.
Music will come from the likes of duos Briony and Owen, and Ray and Paul on Friday, with Sam Eden and Granny’s Attic taking to the stage on Saturday.
“There is music to get people going,” said Mrs Caffull. “It is an annual event and it is successful and it is the first one with Jo as manager so we are looking forward to it.”
