WORCESTERSHIRE residents won’t remember it but those living in the county have the chance to discover what the area was like in Roman times.
Worcestershire County Council’s Archive & Archaeology Service is offering the experience in a new course at The Hive on Sawmill Walk.
The Roman Worcestershire Story begins on April 24 and lasts six weekly sessions at a total cost of £50.
The classes will be run by archaeologists with those taking part being taught about the Roman archaeology uncovered during excavations at The Butts prior to The Hive's construction.
There will also be the opportunity to view and handle some of the Roman finds discovered on site.
“This is a great opportunity for people to find out about what we've discovered about Roman Worcestershire, with the bonus of seeing some of the artefacts that were discovered during the excavations,” said Hal Dalwood, Archaeologist with Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service.
