Jobs are at risk at QinetiQ

A HANDFUL of staff at Malvern’s biggest employer may be facing redundancy, a union leader has said.

Fewer than 10 positions are thought to be at risk at QinetiQ on St Andrew’s Road which provides scientific and technical services to the Ministry of Defence, among other clients.

It follows many redundancies made by the firm in the last three years, although QinetiQ this week stressed it was “committed to Malvern”.

David Luxton, national secretary of the Prospect union, said consultation was under way with members of the “intellectual property” section of the firm.

In a statement, QinetiQ said: “Ongoing consultations are currently focused on supporting functional roles within the business and where possible we will look to find jobs elsewhere inQinetiQ.
