TRADERS campaigning to prevent charges being introduced at a free car park in Upton are urging residents to show their support by attending a crucial meeting.
Upton Town Council is considering the future of its car park in Old Street, with the idea of leasing it to Malvern Hills District Council, which would run it as a pay-and-display, one of the options of the table.
But members of Upton Tourism and Trade Association feel that would be a hammer blow for trade in the town and have been running a “Save Our Car Park” campaign.
A resolution is now expected when the matter returns to the agenda at the council meeting in Memorial Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
