Do not burn garden waste

GARDENERS are being urged against lighting bonfires to get rid of their garden waste.

Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS) have suggested if people do choose to light a fire, they should take extra care and keep neighbours in mind.

Councillor Marcus Hart, joint commitee chairman, suggested gardeners compost waste.

“Smoke prevents people from opening windows, enjoying their gardens, hanging out washing and can have damaging health effects, especially on those with existing health problems such as asthma,” he said.

It should be illegal, there always seems to be a fire on the go around Malvern and some days the smoke just hangs in the air. I often walk past the business estate on Upper How sell and someone there burns plastic waste which stinks, just ban the old fashioned practice. cub
